FAST FACTS:
Goodrich served as an Army surgeon during the Civil War.
After the war, Goodrich and J.P. Morris acquired the Hudson River Rubber Company for $5,000.00 under a license agreement with Charles Goodyear. Goodrich served as president and manager. Morris served as secretary and treasurer. The company ultimately failed, and the two started up another venture in Melrose, New York. Goodrich eventually moved the operation to Akron, Ohio. The B.F. Goodrich Rubber Company was incorporated in 1876, and the B.F. Goodrich Company was incorporated in 1880.
